Hobo Day 2011

Night of the Living Hobo

Our beloved Hobo, Weary Wil, is giving up his vagabond ways of roaming the country, just in time for the 99th Hobo Day on November 5, 2011. Weary Wil – in the form of an 8-1/2-foot bronze statue – will put down permanent roots on the Jackrabbit Green, just outside of the Hobo Day Gallery, on Friday, November 4.

Join us for the unveiling ceremony at 4 p.m. Friday and Then, tour the 1-year-old Hobo Day Gallery and check out the refurbished Bummobile. Later that evening, take in the Cavorts Talent Show at 8 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. On Saturday, watch the parade beginning at 9:30 a.m. Then cheer the Jackrabbits to victory over the Southern Illinois Salukis; kickoff is at 2 p.m. at Coughlin-Alumni Stadium.

Hobo Day 2011, with the Zombie theme “Night of the Living Hobos,” promises to be memorable and we hope you can make it to campus to enjoy the homecoming festivities.
