Sylvan Circle
For over 130 years, South Dakota State University has illuminated the Great Plains as one of the region’s most vital institutions of higher education, cultural events, research, and economic and human development. Although our history is great, our future depends heavily on the support of our alumni and friends.
People who make a commitment to the future support of SDSU, through planned gifts, are eligible for membership in the “Sylvan Circle” recognition society. Members receive a Sylvan Circle lapel pin, invitation to a private luncheon on campus, and special tours of the beautiful and ever-changing SDSU campus. Types of gifts that qualify a donor for membership include:
- A Bequest in your will or revocable living trust to the SDSU Foundation.
- Designating the Foundation as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy, an IRA, or other retirement plan.
- A life income agreement, such as a charitable trust or gift annuity.
- A life estate in a residence or farm with the Foundation as the ultimate recipient.
Reasons for making charitable gifts through an estate plan may include the desire to perpetuate a family name, to assist deserving students, to provide academic enrichment through programs or facilities that strengthen the University.
