SDSU seeks nominations for naming of new residence halls

South Dakota State University is pleased to invite nominations for the naming of the three individual residence halls under construction on the east edge of Rotunda Green. The state-of-the-art residence halls will comprise the new undergraduate housing complex, which will house 412 undergraduate students when it opens in August 2010.

The deadline for nominations is Monday, March 29. To submit nominations, please provide the nominee’s name along with a statement of support not to exceed 250 words for each nominee. Please direct nominations to Doug Wermedal via email at douglas.wermedal@sdstate.edu, or via surface mail at:

A Task Force made up of faculty, administrators, students and an Alumni Association representative will review all submittals and then forward the finalists to the Naming Committee, chaired by Provost Laurie Nichols. The Naming Committee will make a final recommendation to President David L. Chicoine in April to allow for formal approval at the May 13-14 Board of Regents meeting.
