Bummobile restored to glory

Latest News Comments Off

The Hobo Day 2009 Parade will feature a touch of something old, something new and something blue this year. The old and worn Bummobile has been transformed into something new. And, the 1912 Model T Ford now has a midnight blue body.

The remarkable restoration is due in large part to Harold C. Hohbach, a 1943 electrical engineering graduate. After Hobo Day 2008, Hohbach hauled the iconic car back to his workshop in Palo Alto, Calif., where it was completely refurbished.

The Bummobile will make a proud return in this year’s Hobo Day parade on Oct. 24.

The Fall 2009 issue of STATE magazine features a story on Hohbach and the Bummobile restoration.
